4 Spooky Halloween Festivities for All Ages in Gaston County

Let the holiday festivities begin! Halloween is one of Gaston County’s favorite holidays to celebrate. Whether you are a parent of young kids or seeking some thrills, there’s something for everyone and the list below proves it! Grab your goblins, it’s time to brew up some fun!


Ghost Walking Tours of Dallas: Attention history buffs—the Gaston County Museum of Art & History in Dallas, NC is looking to raise spirits this October by hosting the first-of-its-kind “Ghost Walking Tours of Dallas.”  Each tour will last between 30-40 minutes and will begin on the half hour from 7:00—9:00pm every Friday night this October. These are free tours, but reservations are required and can be made with Alex Brooks, Education Manager, at alex.brooks@gastongov.com.


Bootanical 2018: Hey parents, listen in—visit Daniel Stowe BOOtanical Garden’s Beer Garden on October 20th to drift through the fall breeze while experiencing some not-so-scary activities. Being a family friendly event—get ready for s’mores, games and Pumpkin Chunkin’. Costumes are encouraged since there is a kid’s costume parade.


Hickory Grove Haunted Trail:If the name scares you, skip to the next suggestion. This attraction is buried in the deep woods of South Fork River. This trail is one of the oldest haunted attractions in the greater Charlotte area. Guides lead you and your group through a winding path filled with thrills and mystery.


Belmont’s BOOfest:Mark your calendars for October 27th to experience a casual evening of live music, food trucks, pumpkin carvings, costume contests and more in Stowe Park from 3pm – 6pm. “Nightmare on Main Street” will take over after dark for live music and dancing. If you are there for the boos, then stay till the end for the brews!
